Born in Naples, Italy, from East African parents, Asha Salim is a multidisciplinary writer, scholar, poet, and consultant currently based in Philadelphia. Currently, she is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and a Zegna Founder’s Scholarship, pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing with a focus on Cultural Studies at Temple University. She is the author of Unraveling Culture, a newsletter that explores social issues through pop culture, focusing on themes like identity, belonging, gender, and femininity from a global perspective, using Italy as a mirror. Asha is also the founder of the Creal Club, a platform that fosters conversation, cultural exchange, literary knowledge, and creative wellness for Black women and women of color across the diaspora.
