Vanessa DiMaggio holds a B.S. summa cum laude in Journalism from the University of Florida, an M.A. in Magazine Writing from New York University, an M.A. in Italian Studies from Florida State University and an M.A. in Italian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Her research interests include Italian paleography, Trecento and Renaissance literature, and medieval historiography. Her dissertation research focused on Dante’s use of historical sources in the Divina Commedia

She is the recipient of the Mellon Summer Fellowship in Italian Paleography, the University of Pennsylvania Penfield Dissertation Research Fellowship, the Salvatori Research Grant, and the University of Pennsylvania Department of Romance Language’s Excellence in Teaching Award. She is currently teaching at Colorado College and University of Colorado-Boulder.
