It is with great sadness that the Center for Italian Studies has learned of John Price's passing this past Saturday, February 22. Mr. Price was the President of the America Italy Society of Philadelphia and a great supporter of the study of Italian language and culture in Philadelphia, both through AIS and through the Center for Italian Studies. Mr. Price and AIS administered for many years the funds dedicated to the Vittorini Prize, which he graciously awarded to undergraduate students of Italian every April. He will be sorely missed but dearly remembered at this year's Vittorini Prize Ceremony that will be held Tuesday, April 22. The place and time of the event will be announced shortly.
