Georgina Torello

Professor Adjunto, Universidad de la República, Montevideo

She received her BA from the Universidad de la Republica, Uruguay, her M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and her Ph.D from the University of Pennsylvania. Her main field of research focuses on Silent Cinema, Feminist Theory and Theatre. She is Professor of Italian Literature at the Universidad de la República del Uruguay, in Montevideo, where she lives. She edited, with Daniela de Pau, Watching Pages, Reading Pictures: Cinema and Modern Literature in Italy (Newcastle, UK: Cambridge Scholars Publishing 2008) and published several articles in various international journals. She works as a theatre critic for the Uruguayan newspaper La diaria.
