Apr 4, 2016 at | 401 Fisher Bennett Hall - 3340 Walnut Street

The Center for Italian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania celebrated the life and career of Italian writer, semiotician, philosopher, Umberto Eco (5 January 1932 – 19 February 2016) with a special event 4 April 2016.

Umberto Eco's last book (Pape Satàn Aleppe) and project (the new publishing house La nave di Teseo) were discussed by Alain Elkann, Luigi Ballerini, Jean Michel Rabaté, and Fabio Finotti, who shared their personal memories of the writer. After the discussion, Alain Elkann introduced a rare interview to Eco produced for Telemontecarlo in 1992 as part of Elkann's series L'appuntamento. Carla Locatelli offered her memory of Eco in the document linked at the bottom of the page.
